![]() The online mode is also a lot of fun, if not as much as the career. on it, and you have one of the most enjoyable sports games around. Add to that the sheer arcade fun that comes with the gameplay I mentioned above. That depth and sense of progression makes World Tour mode addicting and fun, and that’s probably what will keep you hooked on the game. This sense of progress adds greatly to the experience, and each new step feels like a personal accomplishment. You create a team with a Virtual Pro as the captain (you can also import the Virtual Pro from your FIFA 12 savegame), then move up the ranks, from a penniless street football team to a squad of international fame that has the potential to beat even the best of clubs. It is a typical mode of progression through the ranks. The best feature of FIFA Street, however, is the career mode, known as the World Tour. And that’s how street football is supposed to be, right? Amusing? Without all the realism, the game is much more chaotic and amusing. However, there is one advantage to this – FIFA Street manages to deliver the arcade fun that FIFA’s main franchise has recently strayed from. Including them in FIFA Street would result in a longer development period and higher production costs, but it would also make the game much better. And it’s baffling that EA Sports doesn’t include them, because they’ve spent so much time on these features. Features like Tactical Defense, Player Impact Engine, Precision Dribbling, and more that made FIFA 12 so good and enjoyable are missing here. The biggest problem that stands between FIFA Street and the near-perfection achieved by last year’s incredible FIFA 12 is the fact that EA Sports omitted so many important gameplay mechanics here that they introduced the last year. With FIFA Street, EA Sports have tried to reboot the street football spinoff franchise and breathe new life into it, and while it’s fun and certainly not a misstep, it’s not as good as it could have been. ![]() Always two steps ahead of its competition, the PES franchise, it’s hard to think FIFA can go wrong. The FIFA franchise has been at the top of its game since 2007, handing out one great game after another. ![]()
